PNG in the EYE

Some personal news

From the executive suite at Netmorf HQ, I’m thrilled to announce PNG in the EYE, an episodic tech romcom debuting now at netmorf.mirror.xyz.

PNG in the EYE is a permissionless fiction set in an extended Dotcom Seance universe, fantastically following the fortunes of early 00s mobile internet start-up Netmorf. No slavish account of corporate folly, PNG in the EYE (goes PING) is a hypertextual romp with everything that you’ve come to expect from your Gilbert: traditional GBT-2 word-selection, spanking creative-industries critique, and 1 helluva (L2) web3 Optimism let’s g000.

Full and up-front disclosure: this company is f’d. Expect wincing blunders, interpersonal inefficiencies, and spirit-crushing regulatory bureaucracy. Nonetheless, I intend to tell my tale entrepreneurially, as a going concern. There are six episodes planned initially, each accompanied by NFT collectibles from within the extended universe. The nature, number and price of those collectibles follows the narrative closely, and the fate of the company, quite naturally, depends on investment and capital. If, after six episodes, Netmorf can’t show a return, it will be unceremoniously sunset, again. (The 26 Netmorf tokens from Dotcom Seance do have a role to play, if we get that far.)

The first episode is up now at netmorf.mirror.xyz, and it includes a subscriber NFT, available until close of play on Friday, 3 February 2023, offered with the vague promise of early-adopter perks (probably vaporware).
